Being in service-oriented positions in four different fields is the experience Joyce Szelei brings to her customers and clients. Of further benefit to her customers and clients is the fact that these four fields were related – insurance, legal, construction, and real estate.
- Joyce worked for two major general insurance agencies for a total of twelve years.
- She worked in the legal field transcribing briefs and correspondence for two-and-a-half years.
- She owned and operated a steel fabrication and erection company for over twenty years.
- She became a licensed real estate salesperson and broker and has worked in real estate for the past seventeen years.
- Note: For anyone who may be counting the years, the four positions did overlap.
In the year 2000, after operating her real estate business under her Broker’s license in Louisiana for two years, Joyce joined Keller Williams Realty in Metairie, Louisiana where she worked for eight years. Later, she relocated to The Woodlands, Texas and is working at Keller Williams Realty Professionals Office.
During her real estate career, she has been or is now a member of
- National Association of Realtors, Women’s Council of Realtors (WCR)
- North Carolina Real Estate Commission, North Carolina Association of Realtors, Charlotte Association of Realtors,
- Louisiana Real Estate Commission, Louisiana Association of Realtors, New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Realtors,
- Texas Real Estate Commission, Texas Association of Realtors, Houston Association of Realtors.
- She also held reciprocal real estate licenses in South Carolina and Mississippi.
- Joyce has earned the highly regarded Graduate Realtor Institute, GRI, designation.
She graduated from the University of New Orleans in 1989 where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a minor in Psychology. She never became a “Teacher,” which was her plan as a young adult, unless one counts the teaching of her three children, teaching religion in the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) program for six years, teaching new real estate agents listing contracts and forms, competitive market analyses (CMA’s), measuring houses, preparing and delivering listing presentations, prospecting, marketing, staging, and selling houses. Somehow, the teaching came with life, and Joyce finds great fulfillment teaching and practicing all aspects of real estate with her customers and clients.
